Quality and traceability

Every roll of ULTAR™ is identified by serial number, manufactured under a controlled quality regime, and shipped with the documentation your qualification file needs.

Manufacturer

Who makes it

ULTAR™ is a SQUARED brand. The material is manufactured by UDM Industries Ltd. in Israel and held in stock by SQUARED sp. z o.o. in Poland.

SQUARED owns the ULTAR™ brand. The material is manufactured by UDM Industries Ltd. to the ULTAR™ specification.

Raw materials

Raw materials are qualified before they enter production

UDM Industries operates an internal laboratory for the qualification and validation of incoming raw materials. Fibre and matrix inputs are tested and released against specification before use.

Production

Controlled production

ULTAR™ is produced under a strict quality regime covering process control, in-process inspection and final release. Production lots are tested against the ULTAR™ specification before release for shipment.

Traceability

Every roll has a serial number

Each roll of ULTAR™ carries a unique serial number, linked to its production lot.

From the serial number on a roll in your workshop, the production lot, its Certificate of Analysis and its manufacturing date are identifiable. Traceability runs from the roll to the lot.

Documentation

What ships with the material

  • Certificate of Analysis for the production lot
  • Roll serial number and lot identification on the roll and on the delivery documents
  • ULTAR™ Product Data Sheet for the grade, including handling and storage guidance
  • Delivery note and packing list

Ballistic performance data is released separately, under NDA, personally by email or in a meeting.

Storage

How stock is held

ULTAR™ is held in SQUARED's stock in Poland in a controlled environment, in its original unopened packaging, under the storage conditions set out on the Product Data Sheet.

Handling

Handling and storage

Store in the original unopened packaging in a clean, dry, well-ventilated area, protected from direct sunlight and ultraviolet radiation, heat sources, moisture, solvents, oils and mechanical damage. Handle with clean, dry gloves; avoid creasing, folding, point loading and contamination of the film surfaces.

UHMW-PE is thermally sensitive: processing temperatures, pressures, dwell times and ply schedules must be established and validated by the buyer for the buyer's own equipment and finished article. Refer to the applicable safety data sheet, where issued, before handling.
