UD polyethylene laminate, 235 g/m² per layer. Roll material for pressed hard armour inserts and vehicle protection panels.
Areal density and thickness are per layer. Layer counts for a given threat level are released under NDA.
HQ710 is a unidirectional (UD) composite of high-tenacity UHMWPE fibre for hard armour applications. Cross-plied at 0°/90° in a passive matrix system, it efficiently dissipates impact energy across the laminate and retains fragments and spall.
It is used as the primary laminate in monolithic hard armour plates and as the backing composite behind ceramic strike faces, supporting low-areal-weight panel designs.

ULTAR™ HQ710 is supplied as roll material and consolidated by the customer. Layers are stacked and hot-pressed into a rigid ballistic panel — a hard personal protection insert or a vehicle armour panel.
Pressing parameters determine consolidation quality, and consolidation quality determines ballistic performance, delamination resistance and dimensional stability in service. Design, parameters and process validation are your responsibility. We can indicate a starting point from the data available to us.
Rigid personal protection inserts — pressed HQ710 panels for hard armour plates and rigid inserts, standalone or in combination with a ceramic or metallic strike face. Rigid protective inserts
Vehicle armour panels — pressed HQ710 panels in larger formats for vehicle protection, where weight saving against steel or aluminium is the design driver. Vehicle armour panels
Store in the original unopened packaging in a clean, dry, well-ventilated area, protected from direct sunlight and ultraviolet radiation, heat sources, moisture, solvents, oils and mechanical damage. Handle with clean, dry gloves; avoid creasing, folding, point loading and contamination of the film surfaces.
UHMW-PE is thermally sensitive: processing temperatures, pressures, dwell times and ply schedules must be established and validated by the buyer for the buyer's own equipment and finished article. Refer to the applicable safety data sheet, where issued, before handling.
SQ701 and HQ710 are both held in EU stock. Development and qualification quantities ship DAP to your site within max. 5 working days, subject to stock availability at the time of order confirmation. Minimum order one roll. Larger quantities confirmed on enquiry — usually days rather than weeks.
Ballistic performance data and layer counts by threat level are released under NDA, directly and personally. Tell us your application, threat level and panel dimensions and we will respond with material data and, where the data allows, an indication of a starting point for your design. Samples are supplied for your own press trials — paid, unless otherwise agreed.
